The Global President will lead the Board of Directors, serving as the face of the organisation and the glue that holds the organisation together. The President heads up the Board and supervises all the business and affairs of the Board. The Role of the President is a matter of Governance.

POSITION

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE GLOBAL PRESIDENT

  • Supervising the executive Director and providing guidance, support, and advice (especially on high profile issues or problems).
  • Goal Setting – The President leads the organization in strategic planning, setting short- and long-term goals to ensure the organization is mission-centered and outcome-centered.
  • Assessment and Evaluation – The president is responsible for tracking organizational progress and evaluating the completion of established goals, conducting full assessments, reviewing financial statements, and digging deeper into community needs.
  • Lead the Executive Board.
  • Fundraising – Lead fundraising events and special finance
  • campaigns.
  • The responsibilities of a President vary greatly over time and flexibility is essential as part of the role.

PLACE IN THE ORGANIZATION
The Global President of the Board will hold the Global Management Team accountable for delivering results in line with the core mission/ purpose. You will work closely together with the Treasurer, Secretary and other Board members as well as the Global Management Team consisting of Global CEO, Chief Operations Officer, Global Strategy Leader 4M and Arise and additional marketing, legal, and information positions.

DYNAMICS IN THE CURRENT SITUATION

As we are transitioning into a new operating model, this role is considered new. The team that needs to be built is not existing yet. The country leaders all have a high degree of (legal) autonomy, yet require support on various levels.
